What is
Biblical Counselling?
"Biblical counselling is personal ministry done from a biblical worldview. It means seeing the complexity of life and people in the light of the gospel of Jesus. It means seeing each of our personal stories in the light of God’s big story." (BCUK)

The Whole of Life
People are complex. We all bring our own experiences, backgrounds and histories into our everyday life. A part of our time together might involve exploring how your life experiences are contributing to what is going on in the here-and-now.
The Whole of Scripture
The Bible says that, "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." (2 Peter 1:3)
As we come to know more of God in Scripture, we find that he not only speaks today, but also meets us in the person of his Son the Lord Jesus Christ.

Meeting with a trained biblical counsellor offers you a way of speaking in confidence to someone outside of your immediate situation.
Ever since the beginnings of the Christian church, followers of Jesus Christ have sought to live in ways that extend God’s grace and truth to those in need (2 Corinthians 13:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:3-4; Hebrews 10:23-25). In more recent times, this interpersonal ministry and biblically based pastoral care has become known as biblical counselling.
As Christians living in the 21st Century, we too are called to belong to God’s church as one body as we share in one faith, one spirit and one hope - Jesus’ death and resurrection - the good news of salvation and new life in the Holy Spirit.
In comparison to the believers in the 1st Century, our day to day lives may look very different, yet our problems in life are still very real and can persist as we seek to live faithfully before the Lord. Sometimes these problems bring us to a point when we might benefit from the support of a professional counsellor.
Although biblical counselling (speaking God’s truth in love) is something all Christians are called to as we share our lives with one another in community, meeting with a trained biblical counsellor offers you a way of speaking in confidence to someone outside of your immediate situation. In a safe space, we have the opportunity to slow down and open the Bible together, to hear what God has to say as we invite him to speak into and meet with us in your time of need.
